ABOUT NOUNZ

What is NOUNZ?

NOUNZ is a compiler that automatically generates massive Web Sites (in the form of Digital Libraries), directly from your Data, with the click of a button.

It’s an informatics solution, based on principle called Data Driven Synthesis (a.k.a. Data Driven Compilation).

What is NOUNZ used for?

NOUNZ is used for Data/Information Discovery and Knowledge Management.  It takes your data and “connects it” so that you can see details about things that are important to you and your enterprise, meaningful relationships to and from those things, statistics, and much more.

What gets generated when you run NOUNZ?

Very simply, NOUNZ automatically generates massive Web Sites.

These Web Sites are structured in the form of brand-able Digital Libraries that include many different Library Management features and many different analytical and Knowledge Management constructs which include but are not limited to:

NOUNZ automatically generates hundreds of thousands and even millions of feature-rich views!
NOUNZ automatically generates hundreds of thousands and even millions of feature-rich views!
  • Catalogs (Master, Domain, Abbreviations, Acronyms, Relationships/Predicates, etc.)
  • Indexes (many default Indexes as well as Administrator definable)
  • Charts
  • Reports
  • Dashboards
  • Visualizations
  • Semantic Relationships that include direction and links to related items

Just as important, NOUNZ does all the complex structuring and interlinking of your site, automatically.  What would take you an expensive army of people, over many years, NOUNZ can do in a fraction of the time and with much higher levels of quality.  This includes the auto-generation of complex Business Intelligence and Knowledge Management features that most enterprises would never spend the time and money to build, themselves, even if they did have the resources and required skill sets to do so, which most don’t.

What are common uses for NOUNZ?

Common uses include but are not limited to:

  • Intranets, for better Knowledge Management
  • Enterprise Architecture Modeling Tools (AMTs), allowing Architects to better model different aspect of their enterprises, including the Capabilities, Services, and Technologies, that support them
  • Configuration Management Databases (CMDBs), for better support (via better impact analysis)
  • Knowledge Management Systems (KMSs)

What makes NOUNZ different from other Content Management Systems (CMSs) like WordPress or Drupal?

Content Management Systems (CMSs) like WordPress and Drupal are great.  However, they serve a very different purpose.  They’re meant to create highly polished and professional looking Web Sites that have lots of great Business to Consumer (B2C) features and widgets.  The downside to these CMSs is that you can only build one page at a time.  This is fine when you’re building sites that are tens of pages.  However, this never scales when you want to build Web Sites that consist of hundreds of thousands or even millions of pages, quickly.

NOUNZ can generate hundreds of thousands and even millions of pages, with the click of a button, directly from Data and from Rules you specify.  You can only generate Web Sites with tens or, at best, hundreds of pages, much slower.

Traditional Content Management Systems (CMSs) are better for external facing B2C solutions.  NOUNZ is better for internal Knowledge Management solutions.

What makes NOUNZ different from other Content Management Systems (CMSs) like Wikis?

Content Management Systems (CMSs) like Wikis (e.g. Wikimedia used for sites like Wikipedia) are great tools if you have lots of people that will build, develop, publish, interlink, and maintain many articles, one at a time and over very long periods of time.  However, who does?

Many organizations repeat the mistake of trying to install and populate Wikis, inside their enterprise.  They soon find out that people have day jobs and very few people actually spend the time to develop, publish, interlink, and maintain valuable content articles.  Even if they hire dedicated Knowledge Managers or documentation staff, they rarely get to more than a few thousand pages of content, most of turning stale to lack of maintenance (including many dead links).  Also, these Wiki sites never include interactive analytical details and constructs, such as Charts, Reports, Dashboards, and complex Visualizations.

NOUNZ is different because it can build out massive Web Sites that include the analytical details and constructs, directly from your Data and Rules, with the click of a button.
